Price Quotations, Payments & Deposits

All price quotations, written and/or verbal are valid for 30 days from the date the quotation is given. We require a 50% non-refundable deposit to confirm a cake order and hold the date. The remaining 50% is due 7 days before the date the cake is due. Orders placed less than 7 days in advance of the delivery or collection date must be paid in full. Failure to complete payment 7 days before the delivery and collection date may result in your order being cancelled. By making a payment you are agreeing to all the specifications stated below.

Consultations

In-person consultations, when necessary are by appointment only and are subject to a non-refundable charge.

Refunds & Cancellations

Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances due to the potential loss of business from not being able to book other orders for the same date. Full payments made less than 7 days before the delivery date are non-refundable. In the unlikely event that we need to cancel your order, we will provide as much notice as possible, discuss the reason for the cancellation, and wholeheartedly work with you on securing a suitable alternative, which may include finding a substitute baker. If you choose not to accept any alternatives, we will offer a refund within 7 days. For client cancellations, any deposit paid will be forfeited.

Cake and Confectionary Disclaimer

Our cakes are handmade and can be customized in a variety of sizes to meet your specific requirements. Please note that slight variations may occur, as each cake is uniquely crafted just for you.

Display Riser/Tray Rental

We offer a Display Riser/Tray rental service, which requires an additional refundable security deposit. We have a variety of cake stands and can recommend the best option for your cake. I can pick up the rented equipment the day after the event, depending on the event space's availability and distance. Alternatively, the client can return the riser/tray in the same undamaged condition within 3 days to our home address. If the stand is damaged, lost, or not returned within 3 days, the security deposit will be forfeited. The security deposit will be refunded within 24 hours once the riser/tray is returned undamaged and within 3 days of the event.

Inedible Cake Components 

Our delicious creations may include non-edible components or decorations, such as wooden/plastic dowels in tiered cakes or wired sugar flowers. Please ensure these are removed before serving or consumption.

Allergies & Special Dietary Requests

We welcome discussions concerning allergies and special dietary requests with you at the initial consultation. Although we can accommodate some dietary needs, our custom creations may not be suitable for individuals with certain allergies, as our kitchen does contain traces of nuts and wheat. While we make every effort to label items with potential allergens upon request, there is always a risk of cross-contamination.

Delivery, After Delivery Care, Damages

Since we are based in a suburb of Chesapeake, Virginia, it may be more convenient for you to pick up your custom creation rather than opting for delivery. We are more than happy to accommodate your preference. If you prefer, we can deliver your cake as a chargeable service, which requires a minimum cake value order. Delivery is subject to distance, location, and availability. Although we make every effort to deliver your order on time and to the specified venue, unforeseen circumstances such as extreme traffic, accidents, and road closures may impact delivery. However, we aim to deliver as close to the agreed time as possible, typically one hour beforehand, and will keep you informed throughout the process. We accept no liability for the care or damages to cakes once they have been collected or delivered. If a cake is delivered to a venue and you, the client, are not present, we will notify you immediately with a picture of the fully set-up cake. Wedding and other tall cakes are fragile and require special care and attention when handling, transporting, storing, and displaying. Please follow our transportation and storage instructions provided at the time of collection and delivery carefully. Cakes placed in outdoor environments can be affected by temperature and other factors beyond our control. In hot, humid conditions, perishable ingredients may melt or wilt. Please note, we do not provide cake tables, tablecloths, or cutting knives. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that these items are provided by the venue and are suitable for the size and weight of the cake ordered. Additionally, tables should be properly set up and ready at the time of cake delivery.

Custom Cake Pick-up/Collection Disclaimer

If you are collecting your order from our premises, we will set a mutually agreed-upon time and date. Once confirmed, please ensure that the cake and/or products are collected on time without delay. If you anticipate any delay, you must notify us by text or call in advance to arrange another collection time. Once the cake or products are collected, we cannot be held liable for any damages that occur afterward, whether on or off our premises. It is advisable to use a clean, tidy vehicle with a flat surface for collection, and ideally, have someone accompany you to ensure the safe transport of the cake. The vehicle should have air conditioning set to cold to preserve the cake during transportation. We recommend placing the cake in the front seat footwell, avoiding any heating. Due to the fragile nature of cakes and other products, we advise driving slowly and carefully and using non-slip matting. We cannot be held liable for any damage to the cake or other products once they have been handed over to you or after we have set up the cake at the venue. This responsibility lies with the client.

When is my custom creation confirmed?

Order will only be secured once a 50% non refundable deposit has been made. We do not hold dates as we work on a first come, first served policy.

When is full/final payment due?

For all orders placed less than one week before the agreed delivery or collection date, full payment is required at the time of ordering. This balance must be paid in full and is non-refundable. Failure to complete payment at least one week prior to the delivery or collection date may result in the cancellation of your order and forfeiture of all payments.

How much do your cakes, confectionaries, dessert bars cost?

Can I choose my own design?

We can create your custom edible treat from an inspirational photo you may have or from the color scheme of your event! We do our best tomato your dreams come to fruition.

How much notice is needed when I place my order?

We get very busy during certain times of the year. To ensure you don’t miss out, we recommend placing your order as early as possible. Some dates for wedding cakes and dessert bars are booked months in advance.
